Biographical Information[edit]

Matt Palisin pitched four years in the independent leagues and later coached college baseball.

Palisin had a 5-1, 4.34 record for the 1993 Zanesville Greys. In 1994, he was 2-0 with a 4.05 ERA for the Erie Sailors. After a year away, he went 6-7 with a 4.48 ERA for the 1996 Johnstown Steal. He ended his career in 1997, going 4-6 with a 6.79 ERA for two Frontier League teams.

Palisin had already begun his coaching career by then. He was assistant coach at Penn State Behrend from 1993-1997 then was pitching coach for Gannon University in 1998. From 2000-2002, he was head coach of Hilbert College. In three seasons Palisin compiled a 24-67 record. He came to the State University of New York College at Fredonia as head coach in 2003. In 2009, he set a school record with 26 wins. The next season the Blue Devils finished 21-13. He coached there for 19 seasons.
