Biographical Information

Matt Nerland worked in the San Francisco Giants organization for 30 years, beginning his baseball career as an intern in 1989. He was the assistant coordinator of scouting in 1995 and 1996 and assistant director of player personnel in 1998. He was the club's Coordinator of Scouting from 1998 to 2006. He was then a special assistant for the club. He signed Kevin Frandsen, Brian Horwitz, Nick Pereira, Nate Schierholtz and Erick Threets. He was let go by the club in 2019.

Nerland died in 2020 at age 53.
