Matt Apana pitched in the minor leagues and the CPBL.

Apana was drafted by the Seattle Mariners in the 22nd round of the 1993 Amateur Draft, and he was 5-3 with a 4.43 ERA for the Bellingham Mariners in his first year. He went 14-4 with a 2.83 ERA for the Riverside Pilots in 1994, and he won the Pitcher of the Year award. Apana was 1-3 with a 4.32 ERA for the Port City Roosters in 1995, and he also went 8-8 with a 4.95 ERA for AAA Tacoma Rainiers. He stayed in Port City in 1996, and he was 3-8 with a 5.33 ERA. Apana still struggled in 1997 as his ERA was 5.83 with a 3-9 record for the Memphis Chicks, and he also recorded a 5.40 ERA for the Lancaster JetHawks. He pitched for the Newark Bears in 1998, and his ERA was 7.71 in 6 games. After having a 6.89 ERA in 7 games for the Schaumburg Flyers in 1999, he signed with the Sinon Bulls of Taiwan. Apana was 2-4 with a 4.32 ERA for them, then he announced his retirement.
