Biographical Information[edit]

Matej Rudohradský has played for the Slovakian national team.

Rudohradský debuted in the European Interleague with Apollo Bratislava in 2019; the 16-year-old hit .200/.333/.200 in 7 games. [1] The league did not play in 2020 or 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He backed up Mario Gottschall at catcher in the 2021 European Championship Qualifier; the teenager got into one game, going 1 for 4 with a walk, 3 runs and 2 RBI in a win over Ireland. [2] Slovakia won a spot in their first European Championship, the 2021 European Championship. Rudohradský saw increased time, appearing in five of their six games, backing up Gottschall at C, splitting first with Jakub Ižold and others and also seeing action at DH. His first game, he was 0 for 2 against Sweden's Oskar Syrén before Michal Noga pinch-hit for him. His first hit came against the Czech national team's Radim Chroust. In the 15th/16th place game, he scored in the second after reaching on a Felix Brown error to give Slovakia the lead against France. In the 9th, he again hit into a Brown error and was lifted for pinch-runner Markus Racík. He finished the Euros at .188/.278/.188 and handled 29 chances error-free but allowed six steals in six tries at catcher. [3]
