Matanzas (Cuban National Federation)

The Matanzas club played in the 1947 Cuban National Federation. After a 11-14 first half in which they finished last, they won the second half at 8-4 and beat the Havana Reds in the finals. The manager, Silvio Garcia, also played shortstop and hit .344. He led the league in hits (55) and steals (23) and was named MVP. OF Cleveland Clark (.300) led the league in runs (28) while 2B Barney Serrell batted .325. Ed Chandler (6-1) was their top pitcher.
