Biographical Information[edit]

Matěj Šůcha has been an outfielder in the Czech Extraliga.

Šůcha hit .333/.385/.472 as a teenager for the Tempo Titans in 2008, then did not play in the 2009 Extraliga. In the 2009 European Junior Championship, he batted .238/.346/.524 with five runs and six RBI in six games as the starting first baseman for the Czech Republic. In 2010, he hit .281/.383/.471 for Kotlářka Praha with 31 RBI in 32 games. He tied Wayne Ough for fourth in the league in RBI and tied Jakub Černík, Jakub Sládek and Ryan Murphy for third in home runs (4). He played for the Czech national team in the 2010 Intercontinental Cup, backing up Michal Ondráček in left field. He went 1 for 6 with a double, run and RBI. His hit was as a 9th-inning pinch-hiter for Ondráček off Nicaragua's Lenin Gazo in a 11-5 Czech win.

Matěj hit .277/.403/.420 with 29 runs in 33 games for Praha in 2011, then batted .299/.373/.460 with 26 runs in 36 contests.
