Biographical Information[edit]
Masumi Hoshino pitched in Nippon Pro Baseball for 3 years.
Hoshino played for the Shinano Grandserows of the Baseball Challenge League in 2009, and he was drafted by the Yomiuri Giants in the first round of the development phase in the 2009 NPB draft. He had a 3.93 ERA in 34 appearances in 2010, and he also pitched 11 games with a 3.38 ERA for the Melbourne Aces in the 2010-2011 ABL. However, Hoshino only pitched 9 more games with the big club, and he announced his retirement in 2014.
Overall, Hoshino was 1-0 with a 4.37 ERA, struck out 32 and pitched 47 1/3 innings in 3 seasons in NPB.
