Massimiliano Sartori debuted in the Italian Baseball League in 2008 with the Rangers Redipuglia, hitting .257/.303/.403 despite 47 strikeouts in 144 at-bats. He fielded .952 and played primarily shortstop. After two years away, he made it back to the IBL at age 30 with Unipol Bologna in 2011. He was 4 for 15 with a double and a walk in the 2011 European Cup's Amsterdam phase, playing first base for Bologna.
