Biographical Information[edit]
Pitcher Mason Denaburg was drafted by the Washington Nationals in the 1st round of the 2018 amateur draft with the 27th overall pick, out of a high school in Florida. He had been a member of the USA junior national team that won the Gold Medal in the 2017 U-18 Baseball World Cup held in Thunder Bay, ON. He pitched four shutout innings (2 H, 2 BB, 3 K) over three appearances. He was one of four pitchers combining on a four-hitter against South Korea in the final game on September 10th, working a hitless 8th between Cole Wilcox and J.T. Ginn.
He began his professional career in 2018 with the GCL Nationals, going 1-1, 7.52 in 7 games, including 4 starts. He pitched 20 1/3 innings, allowing 23 hits and 14 walks while striking out 19 opponents. He then had to sit out the 2020 season because of the Coronavirus pandemic.
