Biographical Information[edit]

Masataka Shirataki has played in Nippon Pro Baseball.

Shirataki was on the Japanese national team in the 1971 Asian Championship. The Chunichi Dragons drafted him in the third round of the 1971 NPB draft.[1] Although he won the batting title in the minor Western League, he still couldn't get many chances in the major Central League. He only had 14 at-bats combined in the first four years in his career, then the Dragons traded him to the Kintetsu Buffaloes for Hiroaki Shibaike after the 1976 season. Shirataki still only had 89 at-bats combined with the Buffaloes in the next four years, then announced his retirement after the 1980 season. [2]
