Biographical Information[edit]
Masaki Kato has played in Nippon Pro Baseball and for the Japanese national team.
Kato represented Japan in 1986 Amateur World Series. The Kintetsu Buffaloes signed him in 1987. Sato only had 36 appearances combined in the first two seasons of his career. He played a career-high 92 games with a .285/.328/.424 batting line in 1990, but slumped to .207/.270/.293 in 1991. He only played 27 more games in the next two seasons, and announced his retirement after the 1995 season. He is the coach for the Otemon Gakuin University since 2022.
Overall, Kato had hit .249/.306/.367 in 6 seasons in NPB.
