Biographical Information[edit]

Outfielder Mary Lou Kolanko played one season in the AAGPBL, splitting the 1950 season between the Peoria Redwings and Springfield Sallies and hitting .285/.406/.314 with 20 RBIs in 45 games. She stole 24 bases and scored 36 runs. Had she qualified, she would have ranked 8th in the league in average.

Following her baseball days, Kolanko was a nun for many years before leaving the convent to care for her ill parents. She also taught school for many years.
