Biographical Information[edit]

Nicknamed "Thumper", infielder Marvin Price was one of the youngest players in Negro Leagues history, briefly playing for the Chicago American Giants in 1946 when he was just 14 years old. He later returned to the dying circuit from 1949 to 1952, before serving in the U.S. Coast Guard for several years. He later was a post office supervisor and worked for the Chicago Park District. He died at age 81, following a battle with Alzheimer's Disease.
