Marlin Ikenberry

Biographical Information[edit]

Marlin Ikenberry is a college coach.

Ikenberry was a catcher for the Virginia Military Institute, where he caught Ryan Glynn, the first major leaguer out of VMI. From 1997-2000, he was assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at the College of William and Mary; he coached Brendan Harris there and recruited Chris Ray. He then returned to VMI as assistant coach, where he was a battery coach and recruiting coordinator. He was promoted to head coach in 2004. He set school records for wins in 2005 (27), 2006 (30, the first winning VMI season in 41 years) and 2007 (34-21). Ikenberry resigned in November 2014 to pursue an opportunity in private business.

In 2016, he took over as head baseball coach at James Madison University.
