Biographical Information

Mark Woodyard was drafted by the Colorado Rockies twice as a first baseman. First in the 20th round of the 1997 amateur draft out of high school, and next in the 31st round out of junior college in 1998. The Detroit Tigers then took him in the 4th round of the 2000 amateur draft as a pitcher. He was signed by scout Steve Nichols and made his pro debut that summer.
