Biographical Information[edit]

In 2007, Mark Salas began his second stint as Chicago White Sox bullpen catcher, a position he previously held from 1996 to 1999. In between, he spent two years as a White Sox scout. Salas had played with the White Sox in 1988 when Ozzie Guillen was the 24-year-old shortstop.

Salas was a coach for the Utica Blue Sox in 1992 and Hickory Crawdads in 1993.

His brother, Bobby Salas, was a pitcher in the Oakland Athletics farm system.
