Biographical Information

Pitcher Mark McCormick was selected by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 2005 amateur draft. He was signed by scout Joe Almaraz and made his pro debut that summer with the New Jersey Cardinals, making 2 starts and allowing no earned runs before being promoted to the Swing of the Quad Cities, where he went 1-2 with a 5.48 ERA in 9 starts. He returned to the Quad Cities to start 2006, going 2-4 with a 3.78 ERA there, and ended the year by making a pair of starts for the Palm Beach Cardinals, allowing 5 earned runs in 4 innings.
