Biographical Information[edit]

Marcus Davis initially enrolled at Louisiana State University, but left the school in the fall of freshman year before playing for the school. He moved on to Walters State Community College then Florida State University.

Davis began his professional career in 2013. He was drafted by the San Diego Padres in the 24th round of the 2013 amateur draft. The scout was Chris Kelly.

He started his career with a .176/.252/.206 slash line for the Eugene Emeralds in 2013, but improved to .322/.411/.537 with seven home runs, 31 RBI and 23 doubles in 60 games for the same club in 2014. He was a Northwest League Mid-Season All-Star that year. In 2015, with the Lake Elsinore Storm, he hit .255/.301/.379 with nine home runs and 65 RBI in 128 games. He became a free agent following the season and signed with the Chicago White Sox. He began 2016 with the Winston-Salem Dash.
