Manuel Vega is a former Olympic Gold Medal winner.

Vega was 10-11 in his first five seasons for Granma through 2000. He was 7-2 with five saves and a 3.16 ERA in 2000-2001. He fell to 4-1, 4.70 in 2001-2002. In 2002-2003, Vega postes a 6-5, 3.39 record. Vega was 8-6 with a 3.59 ERA in 2003-2004.

Vega was 1-0 in the 2004 Olympics, allowing 2 runs (1 earned) in 13 innings to help Cuba win a Gold Medal. It was his only stint with the Cuban national team.

The right-hander had a career year in 2004-2005, going 10-5 with a 2.38 ERA. The 30-year-old struggled in 3 outings in 2005-2006 wit ha 1-1, 7.24 record. He rebounded to go 7-6 with a 2.98 ERA in 2006-2007.

Vega was 2-2 with a 4.66 ERA in 2007-2008. Through that year, he had a 51-39, 3.96 record. The veteran pitched just 7 games in 2008-2009, allowing five runs (all unearned) in 12 1/3 IP and going 0-1.
