Biographical Information[edit]
Manuel Maldonado was a pitcher on the Puerto Rican national team that won the 1951 Amateur World Series, their lone world title in baseball through 2023. He is presumably the same Manuel Maldonado who pitched in the minors in 1953-1954. In '53, he was 2-11 with a 4.36 ERA for the Scranton Miners and 1-0 for the Chattanooga Lookouts. He split 1954 between the Hagerstown Packets (1 G), Rock Hill Chiefs (1-2 in 7 G) and El Paso Texans (4 G) to wrap up at 4-13 for his career.
