Manuel Domínguez Fernández

Manuel Domínguez was on the Cuban national team that won Gold in the 1930 Central American Games. He beat Guatemala handily but lost to Mexico's Fernando Barradas in a 2-1 pitching duel; it was the first loss in Cuban team history. Only one of the runs he allowed was earned so he finished the event with a 0.90 ERA, the best of any pitcher to give up an earned run in the 1930 Games. He also was 1 for 4 with a run on offense and handled 6 chances erorr-free. In 1931, he was the top pitcher in Cuba's amateur leagues, going 4-1 to help Club Telefenos to the title.
