Outfielder Manny Crespo was selected by the Seattle Mariners in the 14th round of the 2000 amateur draft and played several seasons in the minors. Since 2006, he has been hitting coach of the AZL Padres.

Crespo hit .324 with 10 RBI for the Team USA Juniors in 1997; they won Bronze in the 1997 World Junior Championship. The team's other outfielders all made the majors - Gerald Laird, J.D. Closser, Rick Ankiel and Matt Holliday.

Crespo coached the Spanish national team in the 2014 European Championship.
