Magnus Jansson
Biographical Information[edit]
Magnus Jansson caught for the Swedish national team, where his teammates included the similarly-named Magnus Jönsson. He hit .267/.476/.467 in the 1993 European Championship, with five walks and six runs in six games, fielding 34 chances error-free for the Bronze Medal winners. He was second in fielding at catcher, as Mervin Beauperthuy had more chances, also with no errors. [1]
In the 1994 Baseball World Cup, he eked out a .083/.185/.125 line, handling 21 chances error-free and throwing out 4 of 12 who tried to steal. He had the game-winning RBI in an upset win over Canada. [2] He batted .222/.333/.278 and fielded .933 in the 1995 European Championship but drove in six runs in seven games. [3]
