Biographical Information[edit]
Márcio Irikura was the starting right fielder for the Brazilian national team in the 1995 Intercontinental Cup. He was 3 for 17 with a walk and 7 strikeouts but two of his hits were homers and he drove in seven. He had four putouts, two assists and no errors in right. He had 2/3 of Brazil's homers, with Edison Hirano their only other player to go deep. Additionally, he easily led the team in RBI, with Estevao Sato and Thiago Ojima tied for second with three. He also was with Brazil for the 1995 Pan American Games and 1999 Pan American Games and coached for them in the 2010 Pan American Junior Games.
