Luke Foley played for the British national team.
Foley hit .267/.535/.333 for the 2010 Essex Arrows. He was 5th in the British National League with 19 walks. In 2011, he fell to .180/.453/.260. During 2012, he hit .365/.577/.575 and led the league with 30 runs. He hit .359/.533/.538 in 2013, finishing 3rd in runs (34) and 1st in hit-by-pitch (16). [1] He was named team MVP. [2]
He was 0 for 4 with two RBI for Great Britain when they won the 2013 B-Level European Championship. [3] For Essex in '14, he hit .377/.553/.443. He tied Maikel Azcuy and Jonathan Cramman for 3rd in runs (24). In the 2014 European Championship, he backed up Richard Klijn at second base. His first game, he pinch-hit for Matt Roxburgh in the 9th inning of a 9-0 loss to Germany and grounded out against Nils Hartkopf. He started at DH against Belgium and was retired by Cédric De Smedt twice before Spencer Kreisberg took over. His last game, he pinch-ran for Chris Sims against Italy, striking out against Yovani D'Amico and handling one putout and two assists while making an error at second. [4]
Foley batted .388/.516/.469 for the 2015 Arrows. In '16, he hit .411/.493/.589. His last season, 2017, he hit .455/.544/.545, 5th in average among players with 50+ AB.
