Biographical Information[edit]

Luis Caballero began his minor league career in the Atlanta Braves organization in 2010. He joined the Seattle Mariners in 2012 and played in the Mariners minor league system through 2015, reaching AA for a time in his final season. Overall, Caballero hit .205/.291/.245 in his career. Defensively, he played primarily shortstop and third base.

After completing his playing career, Caballero joined the Mariners player development staff as a coach and manager.

He was scheduled to return to the DSL in 2020 before the minor league season was cancelled due to COVID-19.

In addition to his work with the Mariners, Caballero has also served as a coach in Panama. In 2022/2023 he was a bench coach for Federales de Chiriquí in the Liga Profesional de Béisbol de Panamá. After their season ended, he served as the bench coach for Panama in the 2023 World Baseball Classic.
