Biographical Information[edit]
Luis Arrieta has pitched in the minors and been on the Colombian national team.
Arrieta was signed by Pittsburgh Pirates scouts Rene Gayo and Orlando Covo in July 2016. [1] He was 2-1 with a 2.56 ERA and 1.04 WHIP in 14 games (4 starts) for the 2017 DSL Pirates. In 2018, he was 1-4 with a 6.75 ERA for the GCL Pirates, walking 29 in 36 innings. Control remained an issue with the 2019 Bristol Pirates (3-1, Sv, 5.73) as he had 20 walks and 10 wild pitches in 22 innings. He tied for 5th in the Appalachian League in wild pitches. That ended his minor league career with a composite 6-6, 4.55 record.
He was with Colombia for the 2022 Bolivarian Games, 71 years after another Luis Arrieta had represented Colombia in the 1951 Bolivarian Games. [2]
