Biographical Information

Pitcher Luis Abad played for the DSL Astros of the Houston Astros system in 2011 and 2012. In 2011, he was 0-4 with a 5.29 ERA in 12 starts; in 34 innings, he allowed just 22 hits and had 27 strikeouts, but walked 39 batters and threw 17 wild pitches. The next year, he was again 0-4, tossing 26 innings and allowing just 18 hits with 27 Ks -- but he gave up 31 free passes and threw 14 more wild pitches. Overall, he was 0-8 with a 6.45 ERA in 26 games (17 starts). In 60 innings, he allowed 40 hits and had 54 strikeouts, while walking 70 batters and throwing 31 wild pitches. He also hit 13 batsmen.
