Biographical Information

Luciano Dallospedale played eight seasons for the Parma Angels and two years for the Italian national team. His son Davide Dallospedale had an even brighter career in Italy.

Dallospedale hit .238/.321/.294 in 1971. In the 1971 European Championship, he was 2 for 3 with a double, run and two RBI and one error in six chances, backing up Alberto Rinaldi at 3B for the Silver Medalists. He went 2 for 10 with a triple, walk and run in the 1971 Amateur World Series and fielded .889, again subbing for Rinaldi at third. In 1972, he hit .259/.394/.407 with 28 runs in 33 games for Parma. In the 1972 Amateur World Series, he hit .156/.400/.219 with 13 walks, 5 runs and two RBI in 14 games, fielding .775 at 3B, where he started for Italy. He had 8 more walks than any of his teammates and tied for second in runs, one behind Gianpaolo Mirra.

In 1973, the 21-year-old batted .250/.363/.339 for Parma, followed by .305/.370/.375 with 29 RBI in 36 games in '74. He hit .308/.388/.365 in 1975 but fell to .236/.329/.389 in 1976. In 1977, Paco's batting line was .297/.402/.434. He hit .273/.354/.336 in his final season, 1978. He was on Serie A1 champions in 1976 and 1977. Overall, he had batted .272/.367/.366 with 188 runs and 166 RBI in 267 games, drawing 140 walks, stealing 17 bases in 26 tries and fielding .859 in 254 games at 3B (he also saw limited action at 1B, C and RF). He later coached in Italy's lower leagues.
