Biographical Information[edit]

Lucas Tancas attended Irvine Valley College before transferring to Long Beach State prior to the 2016 season. Tancas was selected with pick 778 in the 26th round of the 2017 amateur draft, by the Pittsburgh Pirates.

He began his professional career in short-season A ball primarily as a first basemen with the West Virginia Black Bears for the 2017 season where he had a .276 average in 51 games. In 2018 he was assigned to the High A Bradenton Marauders hitting .213 in 92 games. In 2019 again in Bradenton, Tancas hit .280 with 58 RBIs in 106 games.
