Lowell Reidenbaugh worked for The Sporting News for over four decades, starting in 1947. He became managing editor in 1958, senior editor in 1979 and corporate editor in 1984. He wrote a history of the Civil War and several baseball historical books, including Baseball's 25 Greatest Pennant Races, Baseball's 25 Greatest Teams and Baseball's 50 Greatest Games.
