Biographical Information[edit]

Lorenzo Lockhart won seven batting titles in the Bahamas. His brother Richard Lockhart also won one.

Lorenzo won his first batting title in 1960 with Bahamanian Lumber. In 1962, he led the league in runs and was named MVP.He led in home runs in 1963. In 1966, he won his second batting crown at .426. Moving to 100 Pipers, he led in average each season from 1967-1969 with a .500 mark in 1968 and .450 in 1969. He also led in home runs in '69.

Now with Schlitz Beer, he won home run titles in 1971 and 1972 to give him four times leading in that category. In 1973, Lockhart was MVP of Bahamas Independent Baseball. He won his 6th batting title in 1974 at .495. During 1976, he led the league in steals. In 1978, he led in average (.496). He played for the Bahamas national team in the 1979 Pan American Games.

He is a member of the Bahamas Baseball Hall of Fame.
