Biographical Information[edit]

Loren Torres has been a college coach and scout.

Born in Puerto Rico, Torres moved to Miami as a teenager. He set Trinity International school records for steals and average in 1995. He remained at Trinity as head coach in 1997-2000. In 2001, he was head coach of Northeast Christian Academy, a team that had five players drafted. He was assistant coach at the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2002 and also scouted for the Cincinnati Reds in Georgia that year.

From 2003-2007, Torres was 107-104-2 as head coach of Judson University, setting a school record in wins. In 2004, he was the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Coach of the Year. He also scouted in four midwestern states for the Philadelphia Phillies during this time. From 2007-2009, he scouted in Puerto Rico and Florida for the Kansas City Royals.

In 2010, he became head coach of Point Park University. He was 13-26 his first year then improved to 38-13 his second and won American Mideast Conference Coach of the Year honors.
