Biographical Information[edit]
Catcher/Outfielder Logan Driscoll was drafted by the San Diego Padres in the supplemental 2nd round of the 2019 amateur draft, out of George Mason University. He played that season with the Tri-City Dust Devils of the Northwest League where he hit .268 in 39 games, with 3 homers and 20 RBIs. He also played in the Arizona Fall League after the season.
On February 8, 2020, he was traded to the Tampa Bay Rays alongside starting CF Manuel Margot in return for the Rays' closer the previous season, Emilio Pagan. While he may have been the only player of the three without major league experience, he probably had the most upside in the group. Still, it took him until the end of the 2024 season to make it to the major leagues, having played with all the teams on the Rays' minor league ladder in the meantime. He was slowed down by two separate stints on the injured list in 2022. In 2024, he hit .292 in 70 games for the AAA Durham Bulls, with 7 homers and 37 RBIs. In his big league debut on September 3rd, he was the starting catcher against the Minnesota Twins and went 1 for 3 with an RBI in a 2-1 win.
