Biographical Information[edit]

Outfielder/pitcher Lloyd Pearson spent 9 years in the minor leagues from 1946 to 1954. He played in the southern leagues, almost exclusively in Texas, and his high-average offensive statistics often reflected that.

He hit in the .290s/.300s for much of his career, with his best year arguably 1950, when he hit .383/.489/.652 with 28 home runs, 154 RBI, 207 hits, 152 runs scored and 18 stolen bases in 136 games for the Corpus Christi Aces; also played briefly for the Greenville Majors. He led the Rio Grande Valley League in batting average and hits (tied with Jesse McClain; holds league record in hits with McClain and Steve Carter). The year before, he hit .347 with 25 home runs and 40 doubles in 137 games for Corpus Christi, leading the RGVL with 140 runs.

He was 21-16 in 66 appearances on the mound, per records available.

He started 1954 as the Pauls Valley Raiders manager, but was replaced partway through the year by Bennie Warren.

He served in the United States Army during World War II.
