List of living major league players from the 1940s
This is a list of the last handful of living major leaguers from the 1940s. From 1940 to 1949, 1,705 men played at least one game in the National League or American League plus hundreds, maybe thousands, more in the Negro Leagues. Of them, only 3 are still alive as of January 16, 2025. Born September 3, 1924, Bill Greason is the oldest player on this list. Bobby Shantz is the last surviving player to play in either the National League or American League in the 1940s.
This list is organized by year of debut.
