Lindquist Field in Ogden, UT, was the home of Ogden affiliated baseball from 1997 through 2019. After that and the Coronavirus pandemic-canceled 2020 season, MLB's 2021 Minor League Reorganization made the Rookie-Advanced Pioneer League - including the Ogden Raptors - an independent circuit.
The downtown ballpark led the PL in attendance every one of its seasons in Organized Baseball.
Digitalballparks.com's 2007 Ballpark of the Year was expanded before the 2008 season - most notably, and in a highly unusual move for the level, extending seats from just past the home dugout all the way to the left-field wall. The Raptors moved into just-opened Lindquist Field after three seasons as the Ogden Angels at Serge Simmons Field in Ogden, which was then new but was never intended for professional baseball.
Lindquist's interior openness and perfect sightlines, the buzz of a crowd, and its view of the Wasatch Range that http://www.baseballparks.com named the best view in baseball all combine to dazzle. The ballpark is located at the base of the mountain whose image became the trademark of Paramount Pictures.[1]
One of the formerly Canadian clubs, the franchise was founded in 1977 as the Calgary Cardinals. The last of several moves was to Ogden in 1994. That was the year after the film Jurassic Park was released; amid that craze, the team was renamed for the velociraptor.
It has a capacity of 5,602 people.
