Biographical Information[edit]

Li-Wei Su pitched in the CPBL and TML for 3 years.

Su was drafted by the Taipei Gida in the 2nd round of the 2002 TML draft, and his ERA was 2.45 in 4 games in 2002. He was assigned to the First Financial Holdings Agan when the two leagues merged in 2003, but his ERA was 4.91 in 5 games. The Agan then released him, and the Chinatrust Whales picked him up. However, Su struggled again as his ERA was 8.71 in 6 games. It was then reported that he was involved in a game-fixing scandal, and the Whales released him. Su was proved innocent later.

Cheng’s repertoire included a fastball (peak 88.2 mph), slider, sinker.

Overall, Su was 1-1 with a 5.01 ERA, pitched 32 1/3 innings and struck out 25 in 3 seasons in the CPBL and TML.
