Biographical Information[edit]

Li-Fan Chang pitched in the minor leagues and CPBL.

Chang was signed by the Seattle Mariners in 2007 with a $400,000 signing bonus, and he went 0-2 with a 5.75 ERA for the AZL Mariners in 2008. He went 0-6 with a 5.89 ERA for the Pulaski Mariners in 2009, and his ERA was 10.07 in 11 games in Pulaski in 2010. After missing the 2011 season due to right shoulder injury, Chang only pitched one game in AZL then the Mariners released him.

The Taichung native then returned to Taiwan, and the Uni-President Lions selected him in the 7th round of the 2013 CPBL Draft. Chang missed most of his 2014 due to a motorcycle accident, and he was 2-2 with a 4.29 ERA in the minors in 2015. The Lions then released him, and he went to the EDA Rhinos. However, Chang’s ERA was 14.54 in 17 games in the minors, then he announced his retirement. He later scouted for the Texas Rangers.

Chang’s repertoire included a fastball (peak 95 mph), slider, changeup and curveball.
