Biographical Information[edit]
Lew Flick, who appeared briefly in the majors in two seasons, played sixteen seasons in the minors with a .344 average.
He holds the record for consecutive hits in a single game for his minor league performance on July 21, 1946 for the Little Rock Travelers in a game against the Memphis Chicks in the Southern Association. Flick hit safely in his first 9 at bats in the 19-inning game before grounding out in his final at bat for a 9 for 10 game. He also went 3-3 in the second game of that day's doubleheader. Despite the offensive explosion, Little Rock lost the game to Memphis, 8-6.
He is one of four players born in Bristol, Tennessee, with the first being Scotty Barr.
