Biographical information[edit]
Leverette Spencer was a minor league pitcher who played in 1950 and from 1952 to 1961.
Spencer went 136-103 over his 11-year career, winning as many as 22 games in a season (1956). He surpassed the 15-win mark six times. Records are incomplete, however is appears he was a solid hitter, for a pitcher. He hit around .245, also spending some time in the outfield.
He managed the Winona A's for part of 1958, replacing Burl Storie and being replaced by Lew Krausse.
He served in the U.S. Marines in 1948 and 1949.
