Biographical Information[edit]

Len Feriancek was a two-way player who had one stellar, standout season in a four-year minor league career. He began his career with the Galax Leafs in 1949, hitting .216 with 11 hits in 31 games; on the mound, he was 5-10 with a 3.94 ERA in 121 innings pitched. In 1950, he joined the Pennington Gap Miners, hitting .271 with 8 home runs in 75 games and going 6-11 with a 7.61 ERA in 149 innings. Back with Pennington Gap in 1951, Feriancek broke out with a .421 batting average, 25 home runs, 40 doubles and 216 hits in 125 games; he paced the Mountain States League in hits, but didn't lead the league in batting average -- Orville Kitts did, with a .424 mark. On the mound, he was 5-4 with a 6.00 ERA in 99 innings. After not playing in 1952 or 1953, he returned with the Pueblo Dodgers in 1954, hitting .247 in 24 games. He did not appear in the mound.

Overall, he hit .352 with 34 home runs in 255 games. On the mound, he was 16-25 with a 5.98 ERA in 369 innings.
