Biographical Information[edit]
Charles "Lefty" Jamerson pitched one game for the Boston Red Sox in 1924 after only playing semi-pro baseball before that. Youngster Red Ruffing was also a rookie on that team.
Jamerson was born in Enfield, IL, not far from Evansville, IN, and attended college at the University of Arkansas, about 500 miles away. Jim Bottomley was also born in Illinois in 1900.
After his brief major league stint, Jamerson played for the Pittsfield Hillies from 1925 to 1927 and also appeared with the Hartford Senators in 1926.
In 1926 he also played briefly in the National Football League.
