Biographical Information[edit]
Lee Gamble played four seasons in the majors, all for the Cincinnati Reds. He appeared in the 1939 World Series and was on the 1940 Reds, the team which won the 1940 World Series, although Lee did not appear in that Series.
He served in the Army in World War II and played baseball in the service.
His minor league career started in 1935 and ran through 1947. He hit over .300 at almost every stop. He managed at Reidsville in 1947.
After his baseball career, he lived in Punxsutawney, PA for over 40 years and for a long time ran a gas station.
