Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Lars Knepper was drafted by the San Francisco Giants in the 29th round of the 2007 amateur draft, a few picks after pitcher Andrew Cashner, and spent one season in the minor leagues. He went 1-2 with a 2.86 ERA in 10 starts for the AZL Giants, allowing 34 hits and 10 walks, while striking out 38, in 44 innings.

He was signed by scout Lee Carballo.

He died from cardiac arrest brought on by hypertropic cardiomyopathy at 28 years old.
