Biographical Information[edit]

Outfielder Larry Unser was drafted by the Cleveland Indians in the 15th round of the 1972 amateur draft -- ahead of catcher Ernie Whitt and first baseman Jason Thompson -- and played in their system for two years. With the GCL Indians in 1972, he hit .172/.333/.184 with eight stolen bases in 40 games. With the same club the next year, he hit .375/.565/.375 in 16 at-bats.

His father, Al Unser, and brother, Del Unser, played in the major leagues.
