Biographical Information

Larry Smith was a long-time college coach. He was assistant coach at South Dakota State University then head coach of Kaskaskia College from 1966-2001, also teaching first aid and physical education. He was the 4th junior college coach in Illinois to reach 800 wins and coached three future major leaguers (including Bryan Eversgerd) and five father-son combos. His number 3 was retired by the school. He is in the NJCAA Coaches Hall of Fame. He was also a high school basketball referee for at least 25 years, ran a farm and umpired softball.
