Biographical Information[edit]
Larry McCoy was an umpire in the Midwest League (1966), Carolina League (1967), and Texas League (1968-1970). He was then an American League umpire from 1971 to 1999. Late that season, he handed his resignation as part of a failed negotiating ploy by the umpires union. In 2004, when a settlement was reached, he decided to retire in return for a severance package and benefits.
