Biographical Information[edit]
After pitching in one game in the major leagues with the Detroit Tigers in 1963, in 1965 Larry Foster enrolled in the Augustana Theological Seminary in Rock Island, IL to study for the Lutheran ministry.
Foster broke into professional baseball in 1958, and tied for the team lead in victories in 1960 with the Knoxville Smokies, where a teammate was Mickey Lolich. Later, he pitched part of 1963 with the Seattle Rainiers, a team for which Wilbur Wood also pitched.
He was at Michigan State University at the same time as pitchers Dick Radatz and Ron Perranoski.
