Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Landon Marceaux was first drafted by the New York Yankees in the 37th round of the 2018 amateur draft out of a high school in his native Louisiana. he was rated the top player in the state at the time and had played for the USA junior national baseball team, being part of the gold medal-winning team at the 2017 U-18 Baseball World Cup, so his relatively low draft rank was simply a reflection of his strong commitment to attend Louisiana State University. He was 7-7, 2.54 in 18 games as a junior in 2021 then was selected by the Los Angeles Angels in the 3rd round of the 2021 amateur draft.

He began his pro career in 2021 with the ACL Angels, going 0-1, 14.73 in 2 starts. In 2022, he started the season with the Tri-City Dust Devils of the Northwest League, going 4-5, 3.18 in 16 games, before earning a late-season promotion to the Rocket City Trash Pandas of the Southern League where he was 0-1, 7.94 in 2 starts. He started off the 2023 season back in Rocket City, where he was 3-6, 4.88 after 12 games when on June 23rd, he was traded to the New York Mets alongside fellow Trash Panda hurler Coleman Crow in return for major league infielder Eduardo Escobar.
